Day 4 -Monday Sept. 9th Hike Blood Lake to Clayton's Peak

Blood Lake Elevation '9474
Today we hiked part of the Great Western Trail. We started in the parking area off Guardsman Pass '9716 and hiked down to Blood Lake and then up to Clayton's Peak. We found it to be a little challenging since the trail was completely unmarked and we had to rely on our map reading skills and good old fashion common sense.  Time to invest in a GPS.... The total trip was about 3.5 - 4.0 miles with an elevation gain of 1920 feet. At the Summit Clayton's Peak is 10,420 ft and is part of the Wasatch Mountain Range.
The views were breathtaking, so many mountain ranges in view as well as a number of lakes and reservoirs.  We both did very well hiking today and excited to see what tomorrow will bring.

Treated ourselves to dinner out tonight at a wonderful Italian restaurant in downtown Park City called Grappas.  Excellent dinner and nice way to end and great day.
